Apple подтвердила plans to introduce advertising in its Apple Maps navigation app as part of the newly announced Apple Business platform. Ads will appear when users search within Maps, at the top of search results, and within the new “Suggested Places” experience, which showcases trending nearby locations based on recent queries and other signals.
The advertising program, dubbed Ads in Maps, will be available to Apple Business customers in the United States and Canada starting this summer. Existing Apple Ads advertisers will also be able to purchase placements directly in Maps.
Apple emphasizes that all ads will be clearly marked and designed with user privacy in mind: interaction data and location information will not be linked to an Apple Account, and personal data remains on the device, never shared with third parties or collected by Apple.
This move supports Apple’s growing Services segment, which already exceeds $100 billion and includes revenues from Apple TV+, Apple Music, in‑app purchase fees, and advertising. The Apple Business offering bundles Ads in Maps with mobile device management, business email, calendar, and web domain setup, targeting companies of various sizes.
